Welcome to Making Words!

My name is Meg. I am a former military brat and military spouse. Now that my husband has retired from the military, we live in a log cabin in rural North Carolina with our springer spaniel, Lexi.

Since embarking on this writing journey in 2021, I have moved through various phases and genres, starting with memoir and poetry, and finally landing on short stories and book reviews, many of which you can read here. As a college-level writing instructor, I also have the opportunity to guide emerging writers--which I enjoy profoundly.
