remarkable
dusk falls
swift and light
a balm post raking sun
in the west
clouds accumulate
proffer shade
caress the horizon
rain
this pocket of air thickens
as the douse abates
sunbaked zero scape moisture
evaporates
foreign humidity
lingers across skin
carries to the nose
delicate
grass blade
soil
leaf and stone
sudden wind presses
spins
dries
in it, birds scurry
for day’s final taste
sustenance
to last the night
what is a day anymore
if devoid of fuel to ignite – the space
the chance to write? it is
but the passage of time
unmarked
and unremarkable
